Trader charged for allegedly molesting female worker

A businessperson, James Elewenson, has been charged before the Candide Johnson Magistrates’ Courthouse for supposedly polluting a 17-year-old young lady in the Ikorodu zone of Lagos State.

The accused is said to operate a boutique where the injured individual worked as a sales representative.

It was affirmed that 37-year-old Elewenson had on a few events made lewd gestures to the person in question.

The person in question, who begun working with Elewenson on October 6, 2018, was supposedly assaulted that equivalent month.

The victim asserted that on the day the she was assaulted, Elewenson advised her to help him re-orchestrate his room situated inside indistinguishable working from the boutique, pursued her into the room, bolted the entryway and commandingly engaged in sexual relations with her.

Reports say the victim bled profusely after the episode.

The victim was said to have trusted in her neighbor, who saw her crying a short time later, as she couldn’t disclose to her folks.

Empowered by the neighbor, the injured individual along these lines detailed the issue at the police headquarters.

In her statement to the police, the victim said, “On the day he (Elewenson) first endeavored assaulting me, I was in the other space to wear an outfit for one of the spurious when he came in and begun contacting me. He pulled up my outfit and compellingly evacuated my gasp, pushed me to the divider and as he was going to infiltrate, he seen that his sibling was near, so he ceased.

“He cautioned me not to tell anybody and furthermore undermined that on the off chance that I quit going to the shop, he would lie against me that I stole from him. He said he would get me and my folks captured. It was a genuine agony for me as I couldn’t tell anybody.

“The day the episode (assault) occured, he taught me to clean his room and that I should be done before he returned; yet tragically, he returned before I could complete the errand. He went into the room, bolted the entryway and assaulted me.

“I yelled however all without much of any result, since he had raised the volume of the music so nobody could hear. I couldn’t tell my folks since he had compromised that he would get me captured by asserting that I stole his cash.”

Elewenson, be that as it may, denied the claim in his announcement to the police, expressing, “I didn’t send her on any errand to my room; I don’t have a TV or a radio set in my room; there was no time that I slapped her or did anything to her.”

The suspect was charged on three tallies verging on strike and contamination.

The charges read to some extent, “That you, James Elewenson, on October 27, 2018, at about twelve on Allison Street, Ikorodu Garage, in the Ikorodu Magisterial District, defiled one (name retained), in this manner carrying out an offense culpable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”

The directing judge, Mrs F. A. Azeez, remanded the suspect in jail as his request was not taken.

The case was deferred till December 6, 2018.
